In 2010, I met my soul dog Georgia, and everything changed. With her by my side, I left a career in corporate PR to follow my lifelong passion of supporting animals and the people who love them. For nearly 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with 100’s if not 1000’s of pets, pet parents, and pet care professionals, witnessing firsthand the extraordinary bond between humans and animals and the profound heartbreak that can come with loss.
The tragic loss of my sister Joy, in 2021, followed by Georgia’s emergency passing a year later, was both devastating and transformative. Experiencing such deep grief taught me truths that continue to guide my work and is why I believe pet parents deserve compassion, care, and understanding; that grief must be met with empathy and support; and that the people who care for pets, pet parents and pet care professionals alike, need guidance and space to navigate both joy and sorrow.
It was through these experiences that The Parted Paw came to be and is a space created from understanding, empathy, education, and lived experience. We walk alongside those who love animals, supporting pet parents through grief and loss, helping them care for their pets with confidence, and guiding pet care professionals to provide compassionate support while maintaining their own resilience. Every story I’ve witnessed, every challenge a client has shared, has reinforced my belief that love, care, support, and understanding out to extend to everyone who cherishes an animal.
The Parted Paw exists to be a practical and compassionate system of support, ensuring that pets, pet parents, and pet care professionals navigating grief, care, or the complexities of loving an animal never have to do so alone.
